In February 2026, the LABION Group took part in the kick-off meeting of the Italian Nanomedicine Platform (INP), held in Rome at the Sapienza University.
The event “From NANOmedicine to nanoMEDICINE: Converging Innovation for Clinical Adoption“ marked an important milestone for the Italian scientific community, bringing together researchers, clinicians, and industry representatives from across the country to officially launch a shared national initiative in the field of nanomedicine. The meeting provided an opportunity to outline the platform’s vision, define its working structure, and foster new connections among the many stakeholders involved in this rapidly evolving field.
The INP has been established with the ambitious goal of uniting the entire Italian nanomedicine community under a common framework. As highlighted during the launch, the platform aims to strengthen synergies among academia, research centers, clinical institutions, and industry, while actively promoting collaborative projects and translational innovation. A key priority is the establishment of a national network capable of interfacing effectively with European nanomedicine initiatives, ensuring that Italian research remains well-connected and competitive at the international level. The platform will also support training, regulatory, and industrial transfer activities, operating through an inclusive and open framework designed to welcome contributions from all sectors of the community.
LABION participation in this initiative reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to advancing nanomedicine research and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. In this spirit, Dr. Marzia Bedoni will serve as coordinator of the Clinical Translation Working Group, a role that builds on her extensive experience within the European Nanomedicine Platform and her deep expertise in bridging the gap between scientific innovation and clinical application.
